Oaksey Golf Club – Captain’s Log, May

May has brought us bright mornings, longer evenings, and a course that is looking nothing short of magnificent. The fairways are in superb condition, the greens are developing beautifully, and every hole feels ready to challenge and reward in equal measure. Oaksey is showing its very best right now, and it’s a joy to see so many of you out there enjoying it.

A captain’s salute goes to Terry for his tireless work organising the Wednesday and Saturday roll‑ups. Week after week, he keeps everything running smoothly, making sure players are paired, welcomed, and ready for a great game. It’s the kind of dedication that keeps the heart of the club beating strongly.

I also want to give a warm thank you to Val, who continues to run our competitions with precision, enthusiasm, and a huge amount of behind the scenes effort. Her organisation ensures our events are fair, fun, and well supported, and the club is all the better for it.

As we move further into the season, enjoy the sunshine, enjoy the course, and enjoy the company. Play well, play fair, and carry that Oaksey spirit with you on every tee.
